Scott Newsom is a partner in HR Law’s commercial liability practice and community association practice areas.
With over 20 years of practicing law in Florida, Scott has gained significant experience providing full service representation to community associations of all types, including condominium, homeowners, community, co-op, timeshare and commercial associations. Scott provides continuing education courses to community association managers and is approved to provide Board Certification courses to members of community association boards. Scott’s practice areas also include construction, real estate litigation, real estate transactions, and commercial litigation.
Before entering private practice in 2003, Scott spent six years as an Assistant State Attorney prosecuting felony and misdemeanor-level criminals in the Fifth and Eighteenth Judicial Circuits. His court appointments include all state courts in Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Scott earned his Bachelor’s in Telecommunication, Masters in Mass Communications, and Juris Doctor from the University of Florida, where he was a member of Florida Blue Key.
